Apple Health Setup

Connect Apple Health to sync your workouts, heart rate, and wellness data with ONWRD.

ONWRD can directly connect to Apple Health to pull your workout and wellness data. This is an alternative to the Intervals.icu integration for iOS users who prefer a simpler setup.

1) Enable Apple Health Access

  1. Open the ONWRD app on your iPhone
  2. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  3. Tap Apple Health
  4. Tap Connect
  5. When the Apple Health permission screen appears, enable access for:
    • Workouts
    • Heart Rate
    • Resting Heart Rate
    • Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
    • Sleep Analysis
    • Active Energy
  6. Tap Allow to confirm

2) Supported Data Types

ONWRD reads the following data from Apple Health:

  • Workouts: Running, cycling, swimming, and other activities
  • Heart Rate: During workouts and throughout the day
  • HRV: Heart rate variability for readiness assessment
  • Sleep: Sleep duration and quality
  • Resting Heart Rate: Daily resting HR trends

3) Data Sources

Apple Health aggregates data from multiple sources. ONWRD will read data from:

  • Apple Watch: Workouts, HR, HRV, sleep
  • iPhone: Step count, walking/running distance
  • Third-party apps: Any app that writes to Apple Health

Tip: For best results, use an Apple Watch for workout tracking to capture heart rate data automatically.

4) Verify Connection

After connecting:

  • Your recent workouts will sync within a few minutes
  • Wellness data (sleep, HRV) will be imported
  • Check SettingsIntegrations to see sync status

Troubleshooting

Data not syncing?
